Nonviolent Communication

Practiced in over 65 countries around the world, Nonviolent Communication or NVC is an approach to communication and conflict resolution that has transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of people worldwide.

Dr. Marshall Rosenberg, founder of Nonviolent Communication, describes it best:   With NVC, “you can enjoy powerful and satisfying relationships … in all areas of your life.  Most of us have been educated from birth to compete, judge, demand, diagnose – to think and communicate in terms of what is “right” and “wrong” with people.  At best, the habitual ways we think and speak  often hinders real communication resulting in frustration, hurt feelings and damaged relationships.

NVC shows us how to reach beneath the surface and discover what is alive and vital within us, and how all of our actions are based on human needs that we are all seeking to meet.  When we understand and acknowledge our needs we create a shared basis for more satisfying relationships – and  a deeper connection with ourselves and others.
